Description
Original WW2 poster from 1942. "Strong in the strength of the Lord, we who fight in the people's cause will never stop until that cause is won."Using a quote by then-Vice President Henry Wallace, this poster embodied the spirit of righteous resolve that Americans felt toward the war effort. The symbolism is meant to encourage the cooperation of the different segments of society toward the common goal of victory: the woman as she steps out of the home role and into the workplace, the man who works in the factories, and the soldier on the front lines of the battle. The artist, David S. Martin, was a graphic designer who served as a correspondent for Life magazine during the war and as the art director for the OWI (Office of War Information), the department under whose direction this poster was created and distributed.
